Bristol Palin: Levi Johnston stole my virginity, didn’t rape me

Bristol Palin has attempted to clarify some headline making comments that she wrote in her memoir about her baby-daddy Levi Johnston.

She sat down with Robin Roberts of Good Morning America yesterday and discussed the fact that in the book Not Afraid Of Life she used the term “stolen” when she described how she was drunk on wine coolers when she lost her virginity to Johnston. This is an extremely sensitive subject when you’re discussing the possibility of date rape but that word “stolen” would seem to indicate just that.

Here is a clip from that Q&A:

This is exactly what Bristol said about her book comments in regards to losing her virginity:

“Stolen is what it felt like. I’m not accusing Levi of date rape or rape at all but I am just looking back with my adult eyes that I have now, and just thinking ‘that was a foolish decision.’ I should have never been underage drinking, and I should have never gotten myself into a situation like that.”

Bristol is a well spoken and smart young woman and It’s my opinion she’s a great mother to her son Tripp. I think this is just an explanation lost in translation. I understand how she can “feel” like things were beyond her control because of the circumstances and decisions she made to put herself into that situation. She took responsibility for that in the interview and made it clear that she does not believe that Johnston raped her.

In the end she’s just trying to warn other girls that they might find themselves in a similar regrettable place if they take the same course of actions she did that night. She’s headstrong about trying to prevent teen pregnancy, in a previous post I discussed the substantial amount of money she made to be a spokesperson for The Candie’s Foundation.

I think Bristol has a bright future and that word “feel” when used with “stolen” changes the whole deal. As for Levi, well he does have one of the best book covers in history at least!

Finally, someone that gets it! Thank you! Bristol never accused Levi of rape. But she did feel as if he took advantage of her while she wasn’t aware at what was going on. “stolen” seems the appropriate word. I totally agree with your description of Bristol as a person. But I totally disagree about Levi’s book cover. It’s totally cheesy.

I completely understand her description!!! I can relate… you don’t want to say rape because you did consent to it, but it didn’t feel like you consented either.. stole is a good word to use. But she also explained herself more, so if anyone thought he raped her… then they clearly didn’t read the rest of the paragrah

      no no no and no.
If he had stolen it then why did she stay. really come on people. i would read a book from any of the teen mom’s but would not read hers. you see as a single mom no matter how much you hate the father of your child, you should never ever talk down about them. A your son will read this book one day. and yes he may hate his father but he will hate you more. they both need a class on co parenting. a relationship you had with your baby father is not and should not define the relationship he has with his child.

Bristol palin needs to take responbities for her own actions and stop blaming Levi and the wine coolers for her actions if Bristol really felt in her heart that Levi took advange of her and stolen her virginity why did she sleep with him multiple times after ? It appears to me that Bristol is trying to rewrite history and trying to make herself a victim and paint Levi as this big bad wolf and she little miss red riding hood that’s what wrong with this generation no one wants to take personally responbities for there own actions . can’t believe that there are people out there that actually believe her In the words Of dr Phil you choose the behavior there for you choose the conquests .
