Here’s the setup: Sheree was planning a party to celebrate her separation from husband Bob Whitfield in conjunction with the Atlanta Music Festival. The party was to be crazy, over-the-top, with Sheree being toted in like Cleopatra and something about a helicopter??? Anyway, Sheree wanted to be hands on with her party, but Anthony seemed to want to just do his job and keep her updated. There was obviously a previous incident in which Sheree canceled an appointment and Anthony seemed very defensive about the value of his time. After that, it was just a clash of egos.
That being said…
What in the world was this guy thinking?!? I don’t care HOW difficult a customer is, you DO NOT cuss them out, especially in front of Bravo cameras during filming of The Real Housewives of Atlanta! He actually insulted her mother! My jaw dropped to the floor while watching the episode transpire. The women on these shows are sort of obligated to try to be entertaining and to keep trying to push the drama envelope (table flipping anyone?) but someone representing a major service business cussing out a customer and nearly coming to blows?!?! WOW! This is one of those instances where Andy Warhol’s mantra of there not being such a thing as bad publicity is just false. I assume he will be losing his job or getting seriously reprimanded in some way for this!

I am reaching out trying to get the facts straight. First, I am not GAY! Married with children, and love P*SSY.
Second, I was never hired by Sheree or Bravo to do a party. This event was for the Atlanta Music Festival, and the producer’s ask me to modify the event to be included in an episode of the Real Housewives of Atlanta, entitled Sheree’s Divorce Party.
I also consider myself to be a professional with a long standing resume. But, unless you have work with Sheree or had any dealings with her you wouldn’t understand, where I am coming from.

And for someone in the business of planning high-end formal events, not to mention married with children, you need to learn how to defend your sexuality in a less vulgar way than saying you “love P*USSY.” You acted unprofessionally and this apology is unprofessional in a field that is 95% being professional. UPDATE - I ran across smartsexyrichcrazy.com, which claims to have a statement from Sheree’s publicist. The wording is a little rough so I have my doubts, but here it is any way! (How’s that for journalistic integrity?)
Anthony Shorter whom also uses the alias Tyson unfortunately conducted himself in an extremely unprofessional manner during this season’s taping of “The Real Housewives Of Atlanta” and did in fact attempt to assault his prospective female client Sheree Whitfield. Mr. Shorter was enraged that Ms. Whitfield as well as The Bravo Network released him of his duties. Tony Shorter lost control of his temper, screaming obscenities and completely compromising his livelihood.
In addition to this unacceptable behavior Mr. Shorter teamed up with editor Dennis Byron over the weekend and illegally used Ms. Whitfield’s name to headline a party, which had been previously cancelled due to Mr. Shorter’s unethical business practice. Sheree Whitfield had no involvement or any intentions of attending as a result of cancellation.
We are unable to address the situation in length, but would like to say that neither Anthony Shorter nor Dennis Byron has any affiliation with Sheree Whitfield. Anyone considering Anthony Shorter for hire and/or his alleged company “Atlanta Music Festival” should research all information provided.

I have been an event planner for over 15 years. Never in my professional career or my lifetime have I ever seen such a display of bad judgement on Anthony’s part. As a seasoned professional the client should be a part of and have the final say – The difficult the better – listen, this was any event planners opportunity to shine. Sheree is a business woman, a line coming out, lavish birthday parties at her home all filmed on TV – Are you CRAZY!!! You would have impressed her and her guests with future and repeat clients left and right. He was more concerned with power. I own my company and my moto is truly customer service first – its the only way to make money is to please the customer above and beyond expectations. Of course it was free…the exposure alone was priceless to say the least. I would not hire Anthony to scrape the cake off a brides shoe at an event that I put my name on. He had no respect for her because he has no respect for women – for him to make such a horrible comment to defend his sexuality says he does not respect his wife! Who cares if he’s gay or straight, married or not – He is blacklisted. I am based in Pembroke Pines Florida serving Miami, Palm Beaches as well as travel to California, New York and Atlanta – wherever business takes me. I work closely with my preferred vendors in each state – just on word of mouth I have built a successful business – none of the vendors that I do business with would ever be associated with someone like that. Who addresses themselves as a “TOP LEVEL EXECUTIVE”. You wouldn’t even put that on a resume. “How Dreadful”. Not to forget – “Respect my Top”!! Never in Corporate America – He has done several interviews after the show aired but has failed to say if he is still working for the company – I only wish he would find his way down to Florida job hunting – He actually greated a client wearing a baseball cap…As Sheree said…”who does that”??? I was not a fan of Sheree’s last season and may not be this season – that is the entertainment aspect of it – would we be friends – proberbly not – but this has to do with business, customer service, supply and demand and the bottom line bringing revenue to the company – ANTHONY DROPPED THE BALL BIG TIME…
I back Anthony. Sheree is full of self importance and treated him poorly. Anthony will bounce back. Sheree has to work for what she needs. I wish her well.

WOW! Well, I think Anthony Shorter’s career as an event planner is going to be shorter than he thought. Knowing the background of their business relationship is very helpful, since I couldn’t understand (and this was based on the first scene when Sheree met with Anthony and his associate) why she would hire them in the first place. As event planners (and I’ve used many planners to plan business and personal events), they didn’t appear as experienced professionals. While I didn’t think they were high-calibre professionals, I never expected that Shorter would be THAT UNprofessional. So, that’s behavior associated with a top-level executive??? He acted more like someone who just got out of a penitentiary, working on his first job, while living in a half-way house. Animal/Fool!
I find it funny that everyone is bias toward Sheree. This man was never “Hired” by bravo or true life. They were throwing this party for free and it wasn’t even supposed to be for Sheree. Anthony’s company generates more money then this stupid diva wannabe. Who is gonna check her? ANYONE she is human. he could have wrong her neck and she would have been able to do nothing……. show some respect. As a Gay man, I am ASHAMED of this Anthony Shorter. First of all, don’t buy that bullsh*t that he’s married. If you saw the show closely, he does not even wear a wedding ring. The fact that Sheree Whitfelds was a difficult customer is exactly the reason why she is a great prospective client. Clienteles who are challenging and demands higher attention increases the quality of service that is being provided in these types of events. Whether it was a free service does not matter, it is still free advertisement for the business agency that is spearheading the event.
I thought that Sheree put Anthony in place when she confidently said “Exactly, YOU are working FOR ME”. Anthony Shorter should have known that working with wealthy and difficult clients comes with a degree of professionalism that must be upheld at all times. If he found the job difficult, he could and should have refused the event in a dignified and professional manner. He made a TOTAL A$$ of himself in that show—-and burned his own name in front of national television. He simply closed out his services to all prospective women AND their husbands because of his misogynistic profanities. I thought that calling Sheree’s mother a “B*tch” was completely uncalled for. This guy just committed social suicide, I hope we all learn from him. I am so darn ashamed of this colored Negro. His suit looks absolutely worthless on him. These are the kind of people that Black people should never aspire to be. Ghetto, unprofessional, uneducated and completely uncivilized. I also hope Sheree learns her lesson—-as she said it herself at Andy Cohen’s live show regarding the service to Anthony Shorter—–”You get what you pay for”.

I know Anthony Shorter aka Tony personally. I worked with him on a film entitled “Gangsta Mafia” in Los Angeles 2003. He behaved in the same manner “exactly”. I believe LAPD is still searching for Mr.”Tony” Shorter(SoundBoy entertainment), along with some of the defrauded actors and vendors.I understand working with Divas can be difficult, but nothing deserves that type of response! I don’t think anyone would argue the fact that Sheree’s party was over-the-top and that she was probably very difficult to work with, but if your company throws parties for wealthy folks you’re going to run into both of those things all the time. You can always just walk away in a professional manner – you don’t start hurling profanities, insulting the woman’s mother and nearly come to blows with the woman on a hugely popular television show! He could have come across as the hero if he had maintained his cool and just said, “Mrs. Whitfield, you’re party is a very complicated event and hard enough to handle if you’re going to continue to insist on being a part of every decision that gets made and distracting me from my job. If you’re not going to let us do what needs to be done to pull this off then we’re going to have to recommend you find someone else.” Something like that.

You’re forgetting the “Cleopatra” theme was the planner’s idea not Sharee’s. And regardless of the theme, as many have posted, her demands did not warrant his uncouth, unprofessional and violent behavior…Get real!

Anthony was totally wrong for what he did. No professional, executive level person behaves in that manner. It doesn’t matter if it was free, he still need to be respectful and give good customer service. Plus,he offered to do it for free and even if he wasn’t getting paid, he was getting free advertisement for the agency he was representing in return. So in essence, he wasn’t giving the party for free because the publicity from throwing a great event would have brought the agency more clientele, more money and a great reputation.Now we all know he ruined the potential press. It doesn’t matter if she was the worse customer ever! What makes any professional great in business is dealing with people who are difficult and challenging. His display of ignorance was really insecurity and ego. If Sheree was a person he couldn’t handle working for because of her attitude or her failure to meet certain requests or even if he really couldn’t produce, he should have terminated his services respectfully. At the first meeting Anthony made it a point to say to Sheree, “You’re the client and we want to make sure we keep you happy and satisfied.” My God! Atlanta Housewives 2. That was the most terrible display of customer service I have ever witnessed. I hope Anthony is blacklisted. I would never plan my party with him.
