Courtney Love: Lady Gaga is ‘weird, sexless Barbie doll’

2011 Cannes - WENN

Courtney Love has never been candid about much of anything but even in that light her recent sprawling interview with The Fix is a quote fest of incredible proportions.

The Fix is a blog site that focuses on recovery and addiction with a very no nonsense, bs free approach to tackling those subjects.  It was a perfect match for Love who has had beyond her fair share of drug problems and relapses.  She launched right into the Q&A by discussing how she played the role of “Junkie Auntie Mame” claiming that she twice saved the life of Kelly Osbourne from drug overdoses, assisted Paris Hilton with a DUI and provided consultation to Lindsay Lohan after she was arrested.

She jokingly reveals that her bottom was when she purchased flat screens for her “pharmacisist” on both coasts.  She advises to never take a random pill from Andy Dick (duh) and she believes that writer Lynn Hirschberg, who did a piece on Courtney and Kurt in Vanity Fair was a monster more responsible for his death than any one else.

As if all of THAT wasn’t enough she got philosophical when asked about the biggest female pop star on the planet Lady Gaga.  It started with Courtney commenting that being famous is a dangerous profession these days while using Lindsay Lohand and Britney Spears as examples. The interviewer replied that Lady Gaga seems to be doing okay and Courtney had thoughts about Mother Monster.

Love admitted that Gaga seemed to be doing fine but that she was worried about her future.  Her reasoning behind this she explained was because Gaga didn’t seen to have any female or straight guy friends and that she, “surrounds herself with this coterie of gay stylists and advisors who’ve turned her into this weird, sexless Barbie doll.”  Love follows that up by reminding us that she was raised by gay men and that she turned out allright then she added:

“But you know, you can only pull off this meat-dress act for so long. If she doesn’t watch out she’ll turn into a lonely drag queen. Straight guys just aren’t in to that kind of thing.”

Courtney Love ladies and gentlemen.
